Masters cricket is offered to people aged 40 and over. It is a great way to keep in touch with the game you love without having to back up the following week. Our club boasts the largest contingent of masters players in the Gold Coast competition so there is always room to accommodate new players.
The normal rules of cricket are followed with some minor changes: batsmen must retire after 50 runs (they can resume their innings once all the other batsman have been dismissed) and bowlers can bowl a maximum of eight overs. Spikes are mandatory to play in this grade, as with all matches on turf pitches.
The season starts at the beginning of October with the competition being played on turf wickets every second Sunday from 10am throughout the season with lunch included.
Dates: Mid October until mid March
Time: Every second Sunday from 10:00am - 4:30pm
Where: Various locations from Tweed Heads to Tanah Merah
Training: Tuesday & Thursdays from 5pm
Cost: $125 per person for the season plus $20 per game.
